June 1, 2019 - SAT - Depart on your flight from the USA
June 2 - SUN – Arrive Dubrovnik, Croatia
Upon arrival at Dubrovnik airport, meet/greet by your Croatian tour manager and coach driver. Escorted transfer by tour motorcoach to a hotel in Dubrovnik for check-in. Mid/late afternoon, a privately guided walking tour of Dubrovnik's Old Town including a visit to Franciscan Monastery with Europe's oldest apothecary, and the Rector's Palace. Then enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant in the city.

June 3 - MON – Dubrovnik / Wine Excursion
After breakfast depart on a day excursion via the fishing village of Ston to Peljesac peninsula and the village of Trstenik, home to the Grgic family winemakers. Meeting with the winemaker, tour the facilities, visit the wine cellar and enjoy winetasting degustation of their wines and light lunch. Later, return to Dubrovnik and free time.

June 4 - TUE – Journey to Mostar, Medjugorje, and Split
Breakfast and hotel check-out. With your tour escort and air-conditioned coach with WC facilities, depart Dubrovnik. Journey across the border into Bosnia and through the Neretva River valley to Mostar often referred to as »miniature Istanbul«. Enjoy private town tour with the Old Bridge, historical old section, visit the Turkish House, the Mosque and the colorful bazaar. Next, take a short drive to Medjugorje, a world-renowned pilgrimage site, and visit the village Church. Local lunch and winetasting at Medjugorje winery. Late afternoon transfer via Makarska (a short stroll) to Split, the capital of Dalmatian region of Croatia. Arrival and check-in for a 3 nights' stay.

June 5 - WED – Discover Split & Afternoon visit to Trogir
Following breakfast, enjoy privately guided tour of Split including a visit to the Diocletian Palace and its museum; guided stroll along the alleyways and streets of the old town, encroached within the walls of the immense palace. Mingle with the crowd at the open air market and then enjoy some free time to explore further on your own. Optional lunch for your own account.
Accompanied by your Croatia tour escort depart on an afternoon privately guided excursion (by coach) to the nearby gorgeous fishing village of Trogir. This Adriatic gem is set within medieval walls on a tiny island between the Croatian mainland and the island of Ciovo, linked by bridges to both. Trogir has retained many intact and beautiful Romanesque and Renaissance buildings from its age of glory between the 13th and 15th centuries. Enjoy a guided walk of the knotted maze-like marble streets gleaming mysteriously under old-fashioned streetlights and have time to relax on the wide seaside promenade lined with bars, cafes, and harbor with yachts. Return to Split for the night.

June 6 - THU – Excursion to Bibic Winery
Have a leisurely breakfast at your hotel. In the late morning join our privately guided excursion by coach to visit the town of Skradin and specifically the Bibic Winery. Meet the winemaker, enjoy conversation with the sommelier about their products and have a wine tasting and group wine-pairing lunch. Return to Split in the mid-afternoon. The balance of the day and evening at leisure.

June 7 - FRI – Travel to Opatija on Istrian Peninsula
Following an early breakfast and hotel check-out, depart Split driving westward toward the Istrian Peninsula. Optional lunch stop en route for your own account. Part of the journey will be on a highway and then we return to the coast in Zadar, for a short stop. Then continue driving along the incredibly indented northern Adriatic coast of the Kvarner Bay, via the port of Rijeka, to our final destination – Opatija - our home for the next 2 nights. This scenic resort town was the chicest seaside resort for the Austro-Hungarian royals and European elite during the days of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, evidenced by the many handsome belle-epoque villas. Today, it attracts a mainly mature crowd, drawn to its grand spa hotels, spectacular location and very agreeable year-round Mediterranean climate. Upon arrival, check in to our hotel and have the evening at leisure.

June 8 - SAT – Opatija / Istrian countryside Motovun and Pula excursion
Today enjoy a tour of the Istrian countryside famous for vineyards and truffles, and often referred to as the »Croatian Tuscany«. Journey inland amidst the rolling hills to visit the hilltop town of Motovun, walk its cobblestone alleyways lined with flower-decked houses, little boutiques and trattorias and enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the area. You will sit down to a light lunch – truffles food tasting with fine Istrian wine at the Stefanic – a true 'farm to table' gastronomic experience!
Later, continue south to the tip of Istria to Pula, to visit the Roman Arena (the second best-preserved amphitheater in Europe) and a tour of the town. Later, return to Opatija for a free evening in this delightful seaside resort.

June 9 - SUN – Travel to Plitvice Lakes and Zagreb
Morning departure from Opatija to Plitvice Lakes National Park. On arrival tour the Upper and Lower Lakes with park's professional guides. This is a walking tour that involves uphill/downhill uneven terrain, forest path, boardwalks, and some steps. Boat trip on Lake Kozjak, the largest of the 15 cascading lakes, is also included. You will enjoy a picnic lunch here, then return by miniature train back to tour coach. Continue the journey northward with an evening arrival in Zagreb, Croatia's lively and sophisticated capital. Hotel check-in and evening at leisure.

June 10 - MON – Zagreb and Samobor Visit
Leisurely breakfast at your hotel. Then proceed on a comprehensive sightseeing tour of Zagreb featuring the historic Upper Town with narrow cobbled streets and picturesque squares, see the magnificent 13th century Church of St Mark with its colorful tiled roof; enjoy a guided stroll to the modern Lower Town, mingle with the vendors at the open air produce and flower markets and perhaps by a souvenir from one of the crafts stands....
Early afternoon, we drive to the small town of Samobor and on arrival take an orientation stroll through the town's streets. Visit Samobor small glass/crystal making facility, time for other local craftsmen, last minute shopping... Late afternoon, return to Zagreb. This evening, join your fellow travelers for a festive farewell dinner with wine in a local restaurant in Zagreb.
